The director of Capita’s insurance and investor services division, Vic Gysin, to whom Derek will report, said: “This appointment will allow us to deliver long term and sustainable strategic successes in the London Market and wider commercial sector and underlines Capita’s commitment to the insurance industry.”
Derek Henry was previously executive director responsible for sales & marketing and the company’s businesses in continental Europe and Australia. Derek will sit on the board of both Capita Commercial Insurance Services and Capita Insurance Services Ltd, the holding company. An accountant by background, Derek joined Capita in 2006 where he has had a variety of roles from commercial director to managing director of Capita's volume claims processing businesses. He has also led the mergers & acquisition process for the insurance business.
Derek joined Capita from RAC where he had worked for 9 years in a number of different roles culminating in being integration director for RAC after its acquisition by Aviva. Derek spent most of his time in RAC working in the insurance distribution business as commercial director.
In his new role, he will have responsibility for Capita’s commercial insurance business covering the London and International Insurance markets, managing and developing relationships with key institutions and market bodies, including Lloyds. His particular focus will be to grow the business leveraging Capita’s scale, expertise and blended onshore and offshore model to deliver a compelling BPO proposition to the London market.
